Yay, Germany!

If I were lucky enough to be in Germany right now, I could pick up a copy of the German translation of “Why Moms are Weird.”

(I’m guessing this translation based on Babelfish and plot description. Any German speakers care to correct me?)

It’s my favorite thing in Germany next to Bernd das Brot.

Translation: finding a man for my mother.

die fraulein est strangen! There is nothing cuter than a box of these arriving at your doorstep. Inside each copy is a postcard with an ad for German coffee. I can’t read a word of my book, but I love it.

In my own personal battle of Depp V. Chocolate, it’s as if chocolate never existed.

Currently reading: The Botany of Desire: A Plant’s-Eye View of the World. Recently finished: Peace Like a River. This was a friend’s recommendation, otherwise I don’t think I ever would have ever picked up a coming-of-age book set in Montana, peppered with an epic poem. I’m glad she told me about it.

Currently dancing to: Gorillaz, Demon Days.

Liebe ohne Märchenprinz

I love zee cover so much! Liebe ohne Märchenprinz (“Love, But No Prince Charming”, they say, is the rough translation) is out in June. I’ve had a great time emailing with the translator, explaining what exactly a “J. Crew-style director’s chair” would be.

I’m sick as a dog today, and this was a wonderful surprise.

I’m sick as a dog today, because I had an insanely good time at my bachelorette party this past weekend. If I hadn’t caught this cold, I would have been disappointed in myself. I’ll tell all the good details once I’m not covered in snot. (That’s hot.)
