Pamie – I’m a semi-regular

Pamie –

I’m a semi-regular reader (although I never comment), and I was wondering if you would be kind enough to mention my cause on your blog.

I’m running a marathon this year to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I ran my first half-marathon at Disney World in January, and decided it went well enough to go for the whole thing this summer. I figured if I was going to put that much work into something, it might as well be for a good cause, right?

Enter Team in Training, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s program. Over 75% of all donations received go directly to helping patients – either through funding research for treatment or finding a cure or for directly assisting patients and families in need. And all donations are 100% tax-deductible.

I’ll be running the Rock and Roll Marathon in San Diego on June 5. While I would love to have tons of Pamie.com readers out there to cheer me on, I would also love to have their support before the race. My goal is to raise $4000 to help fight Leukemia & Lymphoma by May 1. Right now, I’m about 10% there. If everyone out there could donate a dollar or two, it would go a long way towards helping me reach my goal, and thusly towards helping the LLS reach their goal of finding a cure for blood-related cancers.

I’ve got a fundraising site set up where anyone can donate online. Those who are curious can also follow along with my training.

I know you do a lot to help the community and Good Causes in general, and I wanted to thank you for taking the time to read this. If you have any questions or would like more information, please let me know. You can visit the Team in Training web site and the LLS home page.

Again, thank you –

-Dawn
