An Update
Dear Friends,
I am leaving Wednesday for Africa and I wanted to send this email out to thank everyone for their amazing outpour of support. As of Friday, we have raised over $35,000 for the refugees in Chad and Darfur…most of that coming from small, personal donations. My letter was forwarded to over a thousand people, which proves that together we can and will make a difference.
This trip has evolved into a once in a lifetime experience, as we are now being allowed to actually go into the Sudan and deliver medical supplies to the refugee camps in Darfur. I am excited, and a little nervous, but I know how important this opportunity is.
Thank you again for your support.
I am going to Africa because of you.
Josh

I started getting email again at 8:30 last night. I think the website’s DNS has resolved. I think everything is back to normal. (I think.)
(Thanks, JD.)

My hosting company is changing servers this week, causing some DNS issues and an empty inbox. Please be patient.
no, really, we’re fine
I totally didn’t feel this, but everyone I work with did.
Yes, mom, I’m fine. No, mom, I’m not moving home.

I keep starting entries and then deleting them, which leads me to think it’s time to take a little Spring Break. My days are spent deep in book revisions, which is way too boring to discuss over here. I’ll come back when I start to have something that resembles a life.

Friday’s GSA conference was an unbelievable success! More than 50 people from UNA and around the state converged on UNA for a day of discussion and entertainment. It was a truly amazing day.
A thousand thanks to everyone on the magical Internet who pitched in and/or donated to make the conference a reality. You are to be commended!
In the days to come, look for some great stories about our day as well as a slideshow to commemorate our event. In the meantime, know that ‘the ripples were good.’
This conference was certainly not an end; it was a beginning. The GSA is excited about what the future has in store.
Thanks again to everyone involved. Without you, we could not have done this.
Very sincerely,
Pat Howard

Dan’s shameful 90s iTunes oversight of the day
Tired? Stressed at work? Had a shitty morning at the gym? Delirious with seething rage that the new AOL interface tries so hard to copy gmail that they rushed it out and now every time you try and check your email it makes everything else on your computer run at one-billionth the speed of a dial-up from 1840? Seriously, are you having a bad day?
Then find a way to download “Sense,” the 1992 classic by the Lightning Seeds. It will make you think about driving to the beach and summers in high school. If you’re me. Which I am.
Bad iTunes! Get this song at once!
Well, Well.
If the Chicken & Karaoke (TM) is too silly for you to stomach anymore, you could always go check out how Buffalo Bill is doing these days. (except it’s even sillier)
